Privacy & Cookie Policy

House of Berseri is an independent art studio in San Diego, California. This page explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, why, and what you can decide about it.
Information you give us
We collect information you choose to share:
- Purchases. Name, email, shipping and billing address, order contents, and payment confirmation details. Checkout is hosted by Shopify, and card details are handled by Shopify and its payment processors—we never see or store your full card number.
- Studio inquiries and contact forms. Name, email, the message you write, and any optional details you add such as timeline, budget range, or a reference link.
- Studio-list signup. Your email address and the fact that you agreed to receive studio emails.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the site, standard device and usage data may be collected: IP address (which we store only in hashed form when rate-limiting form submissions), browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and general location inferred from IP.
Analytics cookies are only set if you turn Analytics on in your cookie settings. Before that, Google Consent Mode is initialized with analytics and advertising storage denied.
Why we use it
- To process, fulfill, and support your orders.
- To reply to inquiries and commission requests.
- To send studio emails you asked for (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it—only with your analytics consent.
Service providers we share with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers that make the shop work:
- Shopify—ecommerce platform, product data, and hosted checkout and order processing.
- Printify—print-on-demand production and fulfillment, which receives the shipping details needed to make and send your order.
- Supabase—secure database storage for studio inquiry submissions and studio-list subscribers.
- Lovable—website hosting and site tooling.
- Google Analytics 4—site measurement, active only with your analytics consent. Google Signals and other Google advertising features, including cross-context behavioral advertising, remain disabled unless you grant Advertising consent.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies and local storage keep your cart, checkout, security, and your saved cookie choice working. These can't be switched off.
Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you turn them on. Your choice and its timestamp are saved locally in your browser so we can honor it on later visits.
You can change or withdraw consent at any time using , also linked in the footer of every page. When you withdraw, Google consent signals are set back to denied immediately and accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site are removed where possible. Your cart and other essential storefront data are left alone.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out: advertising stays denied and can't be enabled in our settings while GPC is active.
You can also manage things on Google's side through Google My Activity, Google Ads Settings, or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected—fulfilling and supporting your order, responding to your inquiry, or sending studio emails until you unsubscribe—and afterward for as long as required to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Records are then deleted or anonymized.
Security
Form submissions are stored in a database with row-level access controls, traffic is served over HTTPS, and payment details are handled by Shopify rather than by us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, email us and we'll delete it.
California privacy rights
If you're a California resident, you may request to know what personal information we've collected about you, request a copy, request deletion or correction, and opt out of any sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information. Sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising happens only if you grant Advertising consent, and you can withdraw it at any time through or by using a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.
To exercise a right, email support@houseofberseri.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity, for example by confirming details of a recent order.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
